VG-10 is a unique formulation of steel with a high carbon content and includes chromium, vanadium, molybdenum, and cobalt. The steel is specifically designed for the highest quality knives used both in the kitchen and in the field. VG-10 is often referred to as "super steel" because it is designed to maintain sharpness and durability without becoming brittle. It is most commonly used in the production of Damascus knives. When the steel is used as a core and is layered with another type of steel, the best properties of the knives are achieved, making them both strong, hard, sufficiently flexible, and resistant to corrosion due to the combination of two types of steel.
